Hamas also abducted a number of civilians that could vary between 150 and 200 people, according to Israel.

Israel officially declared war against Hamas and bombed Gaza, killing more than 500 people, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Monday, along with four “enemy prisoners” with their captors, according to a spokesperson of the Al-Qassam brigades, the Hamas military wing, on Telegram.

While much is still unknown about the hostage situation, at least a dozen of them are thought to be foreigners.
